Marcia Gay Harden

Marcia Gay Harden, born on August 14, 1959, in La Jolla (California), was the 3rd child in a family of five. She was the daughter of Beverly (Bushfield) is a homemaker, and her dad, Thad Harold Harden was a soldier. The first time she became interested in theatre while living alongside her parents in Greece and taking part in plays in Athens. Harden began her college education at American colleges in Europe after which she returned to the US for her final study in the University of Texas in 1983 and then earned an MFA at NYU in the following year, and then began her acting career. Miller's Crossing was the Coen Brothers' cleverly satirical homage to the 1990 film about gangsters, Miller's Crossing. Although she had been in film since 1986 (in the less-known The Imagemaker), she was a sexy female lead in her debut mainstream role. Harden's sultry portrayal of Verna the mysterious and beautiful moll, earned her rave reviews. Harden was later cast in supporting characters. Her role was Ava Gardner, a TV biopic on Frank Sinatra.
